Description

Get ready to drive mBot like a self-driving vehicle! First assemble then learn how to control and drive the robot with code. With the hands-on lessons you will make turns, park, stay in the lanes, detect lights, engage adaptive cruise control, and participate in races and fun competitions! Learn coding and engineering, control servo motors and sensors while navigating mazes, using light and sound effects, avoiding obstacles, and more using Scratch coding. These skills prepare students for high school coding and STEM careers.

In this course you will:

  • Create programs with Scratch coding.
  • Control the mBot like a self-driving vehicle.
  • Learn how programs work and what code does.
  • Develop logical thinking and engineering design skill.

Fun Automated Vehicle Activities

Driverless vehicles will be on the road soon, and will likely be common when you graduate from high school. Learn the foundations of this new technology with a fun robot, as well as the science and engineering behind it.

Explore physical science and engineering design using a robot as an autonomous vehicle. Engage in problem-based learning and critical thinking as you learn how to control this small vehicle with block-based coding.  mBot is a STEAM education robot for beginners that makes teaching and learning robot coding simple and fun. You can learn coding with Scratch drag and drop language and can operate the robot in manual control, obstacle avoidance, or line following mode. While working through the challenges, you will need to apply math and science fundamental knowledge and skills.  The confidence gained from succeeding in this course will often encourage pursuit of more STEM courses and careers.
